Like, if this becomes a repulsor-type attack, what sort of beam can oppose it? Or what solid thing can block it effectively, or even reflect it?

Are you okay, Nibby? There’s nothing odd about your post.
I was in line once many years ago and a boy of about 8 was having an emotional response to a picture sort of like the one you posted: beautiful queen with a long dress and great hair and ample proportions and this kid was falling in love with her on the spot and the mother thought her boy was going girly and yanked the picture out of his hands and said, “You don’t wanna play with THAT!” I wish I could have a do-over and say, “Would you prefer he bring you a son-in-law?”

If Star Trek has taught me anything, a Tachyon burst will do the trick.

Forgot to ask: can the Hulk feed off of a GRB?

The Earth. So be on the oppositw side of it when a GRB happens. They travel at the speed of light, so we don’t get a ton of time to do much.

Easy. Reroute power from the shields to the deflector dish to create a opposing beam. The two cancel each other out and the Enterprise is saved. It’s an old trick I learned back when I was an Ensign on the Valiant.

You win this round sir. Don’t forget to use a modulating beam for greatest effectiveness.

You’ll need AU’s of lead. GRBs cut through star cores like butter. Maybe some black holes, but then again they’re the theorized trigger for GRBs.

Tachyons solve everything

Interesting. I used an inverse tachyon pulse channeled through the main deflector dish for maximum effectiveness.

You just have to reconfigure the deflector dish first

You’d have to be fresh out of the Academy to not know that.

Yeah, that won’t work on a galaxy class star ship. The inverse tachyons will blow the main relays. It will take hours (minutes) for Engineering to get the dish back online.

Must remember to up the hyperbole next time I’m bullsh*tting about space stuff ;)
Do they behave like light? I wonder if there’s some sort of tomfoolery you could do with a prism to change their path...

Looks like I was full of shit anyways. Must’ve watched too many “documentaries”. Apparently at worst it’d irradiate half the planet with UV radiation and convert the ozone layer to oxygen and nitric acid. Still bad obviously, but not planet annihilation bad.
I’m slightly disappointed. Intergalactic death beams are much cooler than sunburns.
